Yes, it's true, there's a new man in my life.
He's so ridiculously cute, I'd like to blame him for the fact that I can't get anything done, but in a nice, healthy way, he's not actually taking up that much of my time.
The honest truth, however, is that I can't get anything done for several other reasons, too.
1) The sun has just started to shine on Portland, Oregon. Unless I take the knitting with me and head to a park, it's just not gonna happen until sundown.
2) I went and got a new bike, fell on it on the maiden voyage home, and screwed up my wrist and elbow pretty bad. This has made it hard to knit and hard to make jewelry. And, kind of hard to type, too.
In the meantime, i bought myself a little treat to encourage myself - it will be the perfect thing for those assumed times where I will take the knitting to the park. Zigzagstitches makes the CUTEST knitting project bags, and I've just purchased the one above for myself. This is her "boxy bag" item, which fits a sock project, and also comes with a travel dpn case, which is especially fantastic for my current project which requires switching between two different sizes - that's ten little sticks to haul around and not lose! I'm curious as to how long it will take to arrive from Canada, and super excited to stick a sock project into it and head off to the bus, the park, or to my favorite open knit night with it.
That is, if I can get around to it. I have jewelry orders to fill once I can hammer again (i hurt my left arm falling off the bike, and i'm left handed). Ouch, I hurt. Think i need a kiss from my new man.
In the meantime I've brought back another faerwear product - this five-strand metallic choker is comprised of several different shapes and sizes of real hematite beads. Each bead is hand-knotted on black and nearly indestructable nylon knotting thread, and features sterling silver accents, clasp, and 1/2" sterling silver extender. I might be nuts, since this necklace is made to order, but, it seems I *can* actually knot right now without much pain. Hammering, sadly, is a different story.
